ItzaBitza Game for Kids
Submitted by Lookit I Spy Blog
I was lucky enough to attend the MomSelect Swag Suite at Blogher 2009, and one of the things I received that I was most excited about was the ItzaBitza DVD game. My oldest daughter who is six loves to play on the computer, and now my youngest, 3 1/2, is getting into the computer now as well.
ItzaBitza is for Pre-K kids and up and works on Windows XP or Vista. I sat down with my youngest last weekend, and literally loaded the game in a few minutes. This game uses drawing recognition technology to bring drawings to live. The kids read, or get the game to read to them, and then draw what the game wants it to.
And don’t worry, if you have to draw a house and it looks more like a circle-home of the 1970s, it works too!
From their site:
“ItzaBitza competes with other kid’s entertainment because the game aspects were designed by a team who have shipped many popular games for XBox, the PlayStation, and PCs. This is critical. The cartoons and such our kids crave were all done by very talented professionals focused on the kid’s desires and what the kid thinks is fun. Contrast that experience to most of the edutainment titles we bought for our kids that focused on a school’s curriculum to sell to the teacher and parent. We’d buy these for our kids and they’d get rapidly bored. Many times telling us the “game” was just like being in school.”
Both of my kids enjoyed the game, and I look forward to them using it for a few years to help with reading and problem solving all in a fun way. You can purchase it for just $19.99 from their website.
